stangjo,do you have any friends that bowhunt or know anything about archery,if so have him go to a pro shop with you and pick out a bow,or better yet look through the classifieds and find a good 2nd hand bow that will fit you.Reason why i said that is because there are alot of pro shops that will try to sell you something fast just to make a sale.Most shops will help you with the best service and sell you something you want and can afford but there are a few bad apples out there.
When you do find the bow that fits you best practice alot and really get to know it,maybe even join an archery league and have the experienced seasoned hunters and shooters help out,and most importantly dont be affraid to ask questions.

Stangjo, What state or region are you in. I know of a few shops in the northeast that deals in quality used bows. If you are close I can pm you some places to look.

Also in reguards to age. At 22 most of your major growing is done. Find a bow that feels good and is comfortable to draw and you'll be good to go.
