My current setup is a Legacy set at 60 #'s and a 30in. draw. I shoot GT 5575 arrows. Ive been shooting 100gr mechanicals for the last 2 seasons. Ive been thinking, and I want to go back to fixed blade heads. (probably muzzies) I use a whisker biscuit and this is a part of the reason I want to change. When I push the mech. through the rubber band pops off and I have to put it back in place. Anyway, my question is can I get away with shooting 125gr muzzies with this setup? Will this increase my Kenetic energy? and lastly, should I increase my draw weight to 65#'s to get even more energy? (Ive been considering this anway) I know this is alot of questions but Im starting to get everything together for the season and I want to get some 125gr. field points if I do go this route. Thanks!

If you shoot 125 grain heads with 60 pounds, the 5575 arrows will probably be spined to small. If anything, stay with the 100 grain head and shoot 100 grain muzzys. You'll have the same speed. The kenetics you gain with 125 grains will be very minimal, and it will screw up your FOC. You could turn your poundage up to get a little more speed and kenetics, but its probably on big deal. Id say stay with 100 grains and shoot 100 grain muzzys.

I would offer the same advice as above if going to Muzzys !
One suggestion though.......is modifying your WB to work like a quickshot version ! You can do this easily by loosening your allen bolts that hold the actual disk in place.....spinning it to about 11 o'clock .......it already has a slot cut into it.......you just cut another one and form an opening big enough to slide your arrow in from the side ! Works great !

First, simply going to a heavier head will NOT increase your kinetic energy. A bow will store a certain ammount of energy at a given draw weight and draw length give or take a small ammount. When you arrow gets heavier your speed goes down thus offsetting each other and your KE stays the same. It may change a small ammount, 1 or 2 foot pounds, when a signifigant weight change is made to your arrow but not 25 grains.
What will increase is the arrows momentum. 25 grains will not do much but it will increase a little.
The only sure fire way to increase your KE is to speed up your current arrow or to use a heavier arrow and maintain your current speed. You can up your poundage, increase your draw length, loose some string accessories, or use a lighter and stiffer string. Making sure that your bow is perfectly tuned and operating at its optimum efficiency will also add a couple of FPS thus increasing your KE and momentum slightly.

I tend to agree with the others. If you are getting good consistant and accurate arrow flight and accuracy out of your current setup then I would not change the point weight just of the sake of KE. Increasing your draw weight would help but then your arrow may be underspined.

I agree that you would be underspined with that set-up. Next time you buy arrows, I would definitely recommend going with the 7595s and the 125 gr head. Then you could easily go to the 65 lb draw if you want to. At the same time, you would have a very good FOC and an arrow that would pack plenty of punch.
