what are the whitetail hunters opinions on deer cocaine, does it work, ive had no success with it? is it better off out in a clearcut area, swampy area, or a good travel corridor and does it need any sun in the area

Two thumbs up here. Try relatively well drained but fertile soil. Definitely not rocky soil. Place it about 10 feet off of a well used trail and then sit back and enjoy the results. This deercam pic is a perfect example of what can happen.

I have tried it along with a bunch of other mineral lick products and have never gotten a good result! I am not really sure why it is, but the deer just don't seem to really "get into them"! They will usually paw up the ground a very little, making it appear like a turkey scrape, but that is the "most" use I see from them around this area! It might be due to the amount of food in this general area! The deer have such a wide variety of food here that they really dont need the mineral licks, they have corn, clover, alfalfa, beans, acorns, crab apples, apples, not to mention all of the forage, or the food plots and peoples gardens (most guys don't like the deer gettin in their gardens but that doesn't stop them

I've never tried the deer cocain but I have used other brand's ,I've never had a whole lot of success with it either other than a bit of pawing at the dirt. I have lost track of where exactly it was, because they stopped going to it .Some tell me that you need to break one up, and then put a full brick with it so that the rain disolves the smaller pieces into the ground in order for it to work properly. Maybe this is true, but I don't know for sure. I'll try it this week and see what happen's .On the other hand, my buddy uses them by themselves and put's some sort of feed with it so as too get them to come to it, and once they find it they keep coming back. I've seen his result's and he's got holes that you could almost bury a shetland pony in .Obviously he's doing something right so I'll try some different tactic's on the same property and see what work's best .
