Just curious:)

Looks like very good shot placement though I would be curious about the penetration issue as well.

Hard to tell with all that grass in the way. Looks a little too far forward. You hit both plates?

I don't understand, as long as my broadhead penetrates through both lungs it will die. I don't know why people care so much how far there arrow goes after it kills the animal.

Nuge........they will die no doubt......but depending on the terrain......it doesn't mean that you will find them ! (Changing my "Why" meaning "Y" = Redneck for "Just") ........" Just" take a high hit on an entrance and no exit.........there will be little to no blood ! A hundred yards across a field is nothing......or open woods.........but a hundred yrds into a thicket that has you crawling on hands and knees and your constantly hitting trails running uphill, downhill, left, right, straight, diagonal, etc.w ithout any blood......is a whole nother story !! Figure not everyone has access to a good trailing dog and meat ruining within several hours in early bow season ..........and you are wanting that exit wound.......hopefully low.......hopefully with no arrow to clog up any blood flow !

As to the thread........looks like a dead animal.......hard to argue with that type of result !

WHAT'S UP WITH YOU PEOPLE. He said the arrow came out the other side FOUR INCHES, so technically he has an exit wound. Give this guy a F-ing break. He wants to show everyone what he's done...not get ridiculed!

Hell of a shot and a great looking bear. Hope thats me one day.

If you had to go through the shoulders, is that really good shot placement?

What's up with you justthrowit ????

All I did was answer Nuge's question and my shot comments were never directed at the hunter ! If you read the last sentence of my post you would see what I think about the guys kill...........lay off the caffine or whatever !! [8D];)

I changed my "why" if it helps the way you interpret it !

I too think the shot is a bit far forward.

Question - is that EXACLTY where you wanted to the arrow to go ? I mean, EXACLTY the right spot or were you shooting for a little further back to get double lung, no shoulder blades and a pass through for blood trailing ?

Irregardless of 2" this way or that, you killed the Lab and that was the goal, right ? :)

Looks like great eating, congrats on the kill.

Maybe it was the caffine this morning. I wasn't trying to pick on anyone, and certainly not you. I just keep reading posts on this site. Just seemed like there were few people trying to criticize the shot. The animals down, you know. Yes, I did read your last sentence. I don't know.....sorry if I pissed ya off. No offense meant to you.

Nice hog. I'd say good shot, you have one very dead pig with and arrow sticking out both sides through both of the lungs.

Yes, the animal is down and very dead. However, I just wonder if purposely trying to shoot through the shoulder is considered a good shot. Is it a wise shot?

Correct me if I'm wrong here hog hunters , but it's my understanding that the vitals on a hog are closer to the front than what you'd expect from most other animals?? To the point where you have to hug the shoulder real close or penetrate it. Thats what I've heard , I've never hog hunted but would like to try it.

RE: ???????

Congrats on the hog! i was under the impression that it was a black bear. Looks like a great shot to me. We have a few russain boars that are wild running around 20 miles from here that got out of a game farm a while back. I have yet to whack anything with my bow. Congrats again!

Nice shot, reguardless of placement or penatration. You found the animal so that tells me you did just right. Congrats and call me for the cook-out.

I thought it was a gorilla and then a hog.:D Nice shot.

when i first saw that pic, i thought it was a blk.lab too, then i saw piggy :)
the hogs have that plate behind the shoulders, that is hard to penetrate, it looks to me like a awesome shot, went it and out, he found it, he done good;):D:)
my archery hog from last season, the arrow only stuck out about 4 inches and at first she left only a couple of drops of blood , then pools, then drops again, then i saw her , with my arrow still in her....i was lucky it went through.....bone and all , but it does:)

I think it is a black lab, but I wish it was a rottweiler. Oh well, black labs are better eating anway.
