Anyone ever hunt here before? Iv'e done some research and haven't really found much except a couple cases of CWD. I have family out there but don't want to go out just to see them-- Any big deer in NE Illinois? Thanks

There are big deer in EVERY county in Illinois. I lived in IL all my life up until two months ago when I moved to Dallas. Yes, there are big deer in NE Illinois. Forget about the CWD cases found there. There were VERY FEW and spotted cases. Not to be worried about. Notice where Boone is located, right on the WI border. I beleive those deer that were tested potitive were shot on or near the border of Wisonsin. Probably wondered down.
Anyway, you really can't go wrong with hunting Boone. Still lots of farm property so the deer are fed quite nicely. Not sure where your from but, make sure you get your Archery tag ASAP. First come first serve. The out of state tags run out in a couple days. Check with the IL DNR and when they will go on sale. Good luck.
