I also want to try these broadheads this year. I talk to a friend that hunts elk with them, and he has had real good results.

Why would anyone want to use something that's not as good as it could be. All you have to tell me is that blades "Can" or "Will" break or come off OFTEN and it's a no brainer. There are too many good broadheads that "Fly like my field points" or can be made to that don't have these potential problems. I like a little more cutting surface too. 1 inch is getting small.

The reason the Ultimate Steels sometimes only get about one thread in an insert is that they shank length on the Ultimate Steels is not at AMO spec. If you have an insert that is a little deep, the threads may not get more than one thread, I know it has been a problem on some Gold Tip Arrows.
