Not a bad site. I think they are wrong that an arrow will not go through heavy bone. I shot a deer quartering towards me. The arrow went through the front "Shoulder" the lungs, liver, guts, and the back shoulder (Breaking it). Needless to say the arrow was junk, but the deer ran 10 yards. I would never defend me shooting the deer this way but the arrow did make it through. Good site on were to aim and internal structure.

9 times out of 10 an arrow will not penetrate heavy bone far enough for a clean, quick kill. Sure it may happen every once in a blue moon, but it's certainly nothing to bank on.

JZarr, I wonder if the statements you make don't hold as much water as they used to. With todays fast, high energy bows there is a tremendous amount of energy being 'loaded' into the arrows. Moreso than that of the olden days. Heavy slow arrows will always kill deer just like light fast arrows, but I wonder how much difference there is between the 'old slow bows' vs. todays equipment.

BTW, I'm 2 for 2 on a double lung passthrus while going thru a shoulder blade....I did not intentionally hit the bones, but we can't make a deer stand still forever! I only say that because of the 90%(not happening) you through out there.....I'm thinking that with today's high energy equipment the opposite might be true. I'm sure there will be others to offer a word or two!

In my experience, hitting bone doesn't affect the outcome of having a dead deer. But those are typically real tight shots, 15 yds or less.

If you want to see some great charts, look at the Deer Shack Posters. They have a poster which disects an actual deer.
