Have any of you seen any bucks starting to grow their new sets of antlers? I have not seen any yet, but we should only be a couple weeks away before we should start seeing some head gear around here.

We have this doe and two yearlings from the last year that visits us almost every day and one of these yearlings are just now getting some little knobs on its head. These deer come right up to the kabin and no binos are needed, their kinda like my pets as my dogs pay them no never mind anymore, anyway the deer pays them no attention either.

I haven't seen any yet either. I will be heading out this weekend and I will be setting up a camera. Maybe in the next few weeks I will get some pics.
I don't think any of the does have dropped the fawns yet. I think we are a few weeks off yet. Usually the second week in May.

Here in western NY, I am seeing between 2-4 inches of growth per deer. However, one of the deer I photograph at our whitetail farm only lost his antlers 2 weeks ago today. Some of the younger bucks I am seeing have a little less growth than what I previously stated. I guess, it all just depends on the deer. TGK

Yes, Pat Ely and I were out bear hunting Sat and watched two younger bucks feeding for approximately 1 hour. Each buck had minimal growth. One at about 1 inch per side ( the younger buck ) and the other about 3 inches per side.

I took this pic last weekend. This doe is looking pretty fat but I don't think she is going to download any timee soon. Haven't seen any horns. That deer in the background has a short neck it may be a buck.
