If we only allow 2 pics per person people may hold off till the end to post thier best. So we need to just replace a pic with a better pic as it goes on other wise it might not be very exciting until the last week. Just my thoughts.

I say it's a good idear. But to cut it off by Sept would proablly mean not catching a lot of pics simply because that time frame does not cover the rut. You will miss all the scrape making, buck fighting, and even matting pics not to mention the bucks that move into entiely new areas during this period. As a start up time I would include May as you will get some new born fawns at that time. Catagorys should proablly include Whitetail, big game (bears and such) small game and a most unusual catagory just to name a few. To keep everyone honest a date and time imprint should be on the pic to be valid for entery to keep past pics from being entered. Just a few thoughts.

Good idea but I think it should be later in the year, after the rut when a lot of good buck pics are taken.

RE: Camtrakker-General Game Camera Contest?

Hmm, some interesting thoughts.

1) I would think that the pics could come from any game camera not just a Camtrakker. My initial post simply included the camtrakker comments because I received that email notification from them. Personally, I use a stealth cam.

2) The reason I suggested the summer time frame was because of my preconceived notion that the game cams are primarily pre-season scouting tools. Personally, I could not be presenting any in-season photos as there is no way I would be leaving a game camera out where I hunt during the season as it is sure to be stolen.

I guess the suggestion for different segments for different times of the year would be the most worthwhile from my perspective. Anyone care to suggest how we would split it up?
