My proshop has most items at or below market prices. I'm lucky to have it near here.
Unless your pro shop displays MSRP which every shop I have been into does not. you dont know what true market value is. I am an owner of a online outdoor shop which carrys archery, muzzleloader and modern hunting gear. the pro shops around me are pulling there hair out from this "Fair market value" that your talking about. I buy from a distributor just like they do ...But on my shopping cart it displays MSRP I cant take it off or change it...it is set from the distributor... For instance...a BLK muzzy drop-away rest I have seen it as high as $118 in pro shops....Is this fair market value when the MSRP on this item is $94.00 Dont get me wrong I know they need to make a living like everyone else But do it on your service not on a 20% above MSRP mark-up on products.

I'll get whatever I can at the local pro shop. He gives me great service which I can't get or buy anywhere else. But, like most of you, if Wally World has Thunderheads or Muzzy's on clearance...I just gotta buy some.;) But the majority of my business is with the local shop.

I do what I can to support my Pro Shop. Even if it means spending a little more. I get it back with good service and freebies like fletchings, field tips, arrow cutting and other stuff. My Pro Shop is almost always cheaper than the "Big Block" stores so I'm very fortunate. My only problem is that if I want something special it has to be ordered and hence the wait for shipping, other than that I would hate to see my local pro shop go under!!

RE: $3-$5 more at a proshop

I try and get what I can at the pro shop in town, but now there are two pro shops. I now go to each of them and take turns buying stuff from each of them. I figure that it is better to have two pro shops competing in price and to keep each of them in business, than to let one go out of business. I spend the little extra money. The boys at Wally world can't help me when I have a problem with my bow.
