I bought the Summit Viper XLS and I have a problem. I can't get the platform to point up so it evens out when the tree thins out. I am climbing a 9" tree (the min is 8"). On the cable there are 4 catch points. I put it on the 3rd one. Could I put it on the 4th, the smallest one? If I have it on that one then it works. I just don't know if you can use the 4th one. Thanks

I have never used a summit but i have used the last catch point on my ole man climber without any probelms. A 9'' tree is awful small, i would look for a bigger more sturdy tree first, Just my .02 cents.

Zak.......you can place the cable in any position you need to on that stand for a smaller tree. Use em' all if you have to that's no problem.
Remember , on trees that taper sharply you will need to exaggerate the starting angle a bit to compensate for the diameter at hunting height.

as far as i know you can use the last catch point. i do agree with jerry, I would look for a larger tree, i have had my summit slip a little on marginally small trees, harness or not it still is a scary feeling.

I have used the last notch on my viper XLS and never had a problem just make sure the teeth are digging it to the tree.
