Ditto! ;) Honestly, the eyes on full blown shoulder mounts give me the creeps. I know they're not real and all, but still...[:-]

Nice looking mounts KY,
Here's a picture of some of my PA bowkills, and which shows another "Euro" style mount that me and my buddy Frank (Kidd642)do with our "Non-shoulder mount" sized bucks........a nice way to make a good looking mount and honoring the animal without hacking off the antlers and putting them on a plaque.



The pedastals are really easy to make and you can use whatever wood floats your boat.
They look great on shelves or above a fireplace, and you can pick them up and look at them which is a bonus.

I definetly like the rack's but I'm not impressed with the skull's .I guess what I'm trying to say is I like the traditional mount's much better. That's just my opinion , I just like to see the animal that I harvested with a face.
It's your perogative to which style you like and I guess if that what you like then that's fine by me .

NO I SURE DIDN'T, THESE ARE MY BROTHER'S MULE DEER ONE WAS TAKEN IN COLORADO AND THE OTHER IN WYOMING. THE FULL SHOULDER MOUNT PIC DOESN'T REALLY GIVE THE DEER MUCH JUSTICE. YOU REALLY CAN'T EVEN GET YOUR HAND AROUND WHERE THE BEAMS FORK, IT HAS A HECK OF A LOTTA MASS.:)

Nice mounts all of them.
Im in the process of doing my Elk as a european mount now. I boiled it out last fall and cleaned out the inside. Now Im drying it with a Borax paste I mixed and with which I have coated the bone.
My neighbors were not real sure what I was cooking in the back yard the day I boiled out the skull:D

KY, I like the one on the right. I guess I like the engraving on the plaque. I think it makes it look a little classyer. Good Job.

I really like the look of the skull mounts, I will do those for any non-shoulder mount buck I get. I also feel that having the skull still attached, helps the rack itself look nicer than just it being out there or on a plaque.

Matt I love the pedistal. Roght now I have one of my Euro mounts sitting on one of those fire place thingys. they are made in mexico out of pottery clay.

Oh well looks good nice idea with the pedistal.
