Yep, saw one in PA in the Poconos, hunting deer. I had noticed something looking at me about 30 yeards away. Put the scope and cross hairs on his head. Than I watched him walk away. A few months later, I saw a female Bobcat playing with her kittens near the road. Haven't seen them since and this was about 5 years ago.

Wow, scary cougar pics!!

I saw a bobcat once while rabbit hunting, pretty cool to see. Disappeared pretty fast too.
Techy:
Those are not cougars, they are bobcats. Are you sure you've seen one before?

Actually those are cougars in the link above. Click and look for yourself
Yep I can identify most wildlife.[8D]
There is a huge difference between a cougar and a bobcat.

Never seen one here in Illinois. I've heard a few reports of people seeing them. Check out this link. This guy has a cougar as a very close neighbor.

Over the years I've probably seen 10 or so while actually on the stand. Missed one with my bow at 15yds [:@] You think a deer can duck an arrow?? A bobcat can turn himself inside out.

I also shot one with a 243 one day while on stand. Perfect shoulder shot at about 50 yds. He dropped and laid dead still for about 5 minutes then he started flopping around and the next thing I now he is high tailing it out of the county. I tracked him into a big log jam, where I let him be, no way was I going digging through there with a wounded cat holed up in there. Those critters are tough as steel.

I have seen them while hunting, but Im in PA. They are very quite little creatures, cant hardly hear them walkin. If you do get one and get it mounted dont take it to the guy that did these 2.

Those are absolutely the worst mounts I have ever seen!!! That is really a shame and a disgrace.

I hunt in central MO and saw one last fall. It was chasing a squirrel and fell out of the tree. not very high, so he's fine. pretty neat to watch

Jimbo,
I would have to disagree with that statement. I would probably even believe that they don't use their sense of smell as their primary means of hunting but that still doesn't mean that they don't have an acute sense of smell and use it for their own protection. JMO
Silentassassin- A bobcat's sense of smell isn't terrible, but it doesn't hold a candle to the sniffing power of a deer or a member of the dog family.

I thought I would share this little story.

Where I hunt during gun season in Webster Co there are some real practical jokers and someone had found a dead bobcat so one of the guys thought it might be funny to put the bobcat in another guys stand on opening morning.PICTURE THIS,CLIMBING IN YOUR STAND IN THE DARK AND POKING YOUR HEAD OVER THE PLATFORM OF YOUR LADDER STAND AND HAVING A BOBCAT STARING BACK AT YOU.Everyone within a mile radius could tell when that person got to his stand that morning. You heard him scream and then you heard him start cussing the person that he knew did it.
I've heard a story like this but with a coyote instead. I know it sounds funny, but someone could get seriously hurt by surprising them up in their stand like that. Please don't pull stunts like this 20 feet up a tree!!
