Wiskerbiskets any good.

I need a new rest and have been looking at wisker biskets. I have heard conflicting stories. Some say they are great. Others say they mess up the fletchings and enlarge the groups. What's your opinion?

My opinion is: both stories are true. They're a good, simple hunting rest but would not be on my list of rests to use for competition. Even though, someone won a big tournament here while back with a WB on his bow. I forget the details, but I'm sure one of the WB fans knows all about it.

If you get one, go to the Carolina Archery website and get the instructions on how to modify it to keep from screwing your vanes up so bad.

Depends on who you talk to. I personally don't like them.

I wouldn't hunt with any other rest. The advantages far outweigh the dis advantages In a hunting situation (IMHO). The new brown biscuits seem to be a lot less damaging to fletchings and in my oppinion feathers work better than vains.

I don't think there is a problem with the whisker biscuit rest itself. There can be a problem if people won't set it up properly. The rest and the bow need to be tuned together with the correct spine arrow in order to have good results. The shooter also has to execute correct form because the arrow is on the bow untill its free of the rest. If a low brace height bow is critical of shooting form the whisker biscuit is even more critical. If you torque the bow the biscuit will throw the shot right where you pointed the bow last. The whisker biscuit can teach you alot about shooting your bow and you won't drop your arrow while learning. Good luck hunting!

You can read this and make you own mind up. I like it a great deal but you have to understand the rest to get the most out of it.
