I've been shooting one for about ten years now and haven't had any problems and I've never had one come loose.

When tied correctly, they really won't fail.

I have no fear of it comming loose because IMO it just can't.

I wouldn't think of shooting a bow without one. I shoot 3-D all year and hunt with the same bow. Never have even come close to having one fail.

I agree with Rack, it does not come loose (by itself) if it is tied correctly.

You'd have a hard time convincing me that they don't come loose; especially since mine did just that last week. It wasn't a pretty sight. BTW, it's only been on there for 3-4 weeks so it wasn't due to wear.

This is a good topic, I'd like to know how many guys use them also. I've noticed that alot of the big name guys use the string loop for their release instead of gripping the bow string directly with the release. How does this benefit anything? I'm asking because I don't know, I've always shot without one. Am I missing out on something that could possibly increase my grouping? I presently use an eliminator button between the arrow and release.

Phil the two main advantages that I know of is that your release won't ware your serving out and it helps prevent knock pinch.
