RE: best tree stand
If you want a good stand that is compact then go with the Ol' Man Treestands |

RE: best tree stand
My best climber is a TimberTall. I sold my Summit after using the TimberTall. Very light and stable. I did replace the cloth seat with a better one though. I also use API-type pins instead of the cable adjuster bolts.
My Summit was very stable but the cable was a bit loud and wore very quickly and the stand was just too heavy (25 lb) and bulky to haul long-distance with other gear. My favorite hang-on would be either my Buckfinder (don't make 'em anymore), Amacker Timb-R-Lok, or a W&S Cypress (don't make 'em anymore). I bought an ITS Leveler this year to try out. It looks real good. My API Alum-I-Lok is good but it has a nylon seat (what were they thinking?) that is just too noisy (sure looks nice though [:@] ). |

RE: best tree stand
I think that the Summit viper extreme XL is the most workable stand out there.Comfortable, ease of operation and silent in and out of the tree.I have owned several but none like the viper!;)
