How many pins do you use.

One pin. So far I have hit the same hole out to about 32 yards. I'll have to stretch out a little and see just how far I can shoot with this one pin.

RE: How many pins do you use.

Currently using three pins. 25, 35, and 45. My Outback shoots pretty flat out to 25 yards. I usually aim for the bottom third of the deer in case it "jumps the string".

I've given some thought to switching to a one sight pin set up. There is a Vital Bow Gear sight that I'm thinking about trying. It is moveable. If I can find the picture, I'll try to post it here.

I'm using the Impact Archery Cosmic sight right now and shooting one pin up to 30yrds. I'll have my new Spott Hogg Real Deal this week so once I get it sighted in we'll see which I prefer.

None. I hunted with a sight maybe 3 or 4 times about 20 years ago and decided I would never again have sights on a hunting bow. If I did use a sight, I'd probably use 1 pin set at 27 yards.

I shot just one pin last year for hunting set at 25. I got a new sight about a month ago and it has 3 pins. I'm planning on stripping at least one pin if not two off this sight by this season.

RE: How many pins do you use.

2 pins. The first set at 25 and the second set at 40. from 10 to about 30 yards all the arrows will stay in the "10 ring". At 35 I aim between my 25 yard pin and my 40, and from 37 to about 43 my 40 yard pin stays in the 10. I also have one set at 60 just for practice.

I use 4 set for 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards. The 50 yard pin is for practice only, I won't shoot at game that far.

Always used one, went to three last year, confused myself, going back to one this year.

RE: How many pins do you use.

Had 5 pins 20-30-40-50-60 yds came with the bow (used) The guy was into competition shooting Xs. The color placement was green red yellow red green. I Changed sight and pins to three -20-30-40 yds/paces.

AS AN ASIDE: I've never seen a pin for less than 20 yards as I believe the arrow hasn't lost it's wobble or begun to spin until 15 yards. I use the 30 at 7-10 yards and have yet to miss the "10" ring.

RE: How many pins do you use.

When I whitetail hunt from elevated stands (most of my hunting), I usually use three pins. 8, 18, and 28. My Elk setup for this year is a little different. For that I use a 25 and 40 yard pin.

RE: How many pins do you use.

Archers Choice 5 Pin: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 but have never shot at an animal beyond 30 yards. Although my 30 and 50 yard pins are red and can be used as a range finder. If a deer fits between these two pins it is acceptably close to 20 yards. For elk though, I have to guess a bit more, this same pin distance covers from the ground to his belly and would range close enough to 20 yards.

Note:I use the same bow for target and field courses that I use for hunting.

I used to have two-one at 20yards and the other at 35 yards. I went to a pendulum two years ago and I love it.
