RE: How many pins do you use.

When I whitetail hunt from elevated stands (most of my hunting), I usually use three pins. 8, 18, and 28. My Elk setup for this year is a little different. For that I use a 25 and 40 yard pin.

Archers Choice 5 Pin: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 but have never shot at an animal beyond 30 yards. Although my 30 and 50 yard pins are red and can be used as a range finder. If a deer fits between these two pins it is acceptably close to 20 yards. For elk though, I have to guess a bit more, this same pin distance covers from the ground to his belly and would range close enough to 20 yards.

Note:I use the same bow for target and field courses that I use for hunting.

I used to have two-one at 20yards and the other at 35 yards. I went to a pendulum two years ago and I love it.
