Would you still bowhunt..........

if compound bows and camoflage were illegal? Getting back to simpler days of trying to hunt with a stick and plaid flannel?

If you currently bowhunt, would you?

If you had never touched a bow before, would you?

One of these type of questions again, I am always first and incorrect when I get into these:eek::eek::)

I am sure I would - but the experience would not be so "fullfilling" so to speak. I would be miserable carying around a big wood stick......LOL:D..Sorry you trad guys... But I would be one miserable dude.;)

The camo I could do without..........But not my Bow[:-]:D

Some of us started that way. Of course I'd still hunt.

I'd be just fine with a long bow or recurve and no camo if I had to ..... You bet I'd still bowhunt.

Will probably leave my compound in the case this year and shoot with a long bow.

Heck yes I would hunt!

Without a doubt. That is a no brainer here.

My next archery goal is to shoot/hunt with a longbow or recurve so in that aspect I'd say yes, I'd still bowhunt. I'm pretty sure I could do without camo as well. People have killed deer for many years before the camo that we have now was available.

I would hunt regardless of whatever tools they allowed us to use.

I've had this conversation a hunderd times on other sites. Equipment has nothing to do with it. It's the close encounter that gets my heart rate up. I can get my archery fix from Feb. thru sept. with indoor target and 3-d. Come Oct. I'm in a different mind-set. I just choose a bow as my preference. I'd hunt with a spear if I had too. Jerry

I would try to kill them with a sharp stick if that's all the law would allow.

Longbows and plaid...Hehe, Believe or not, there are alot of us who wouldn't hunt any other way. :D I've actually noticed a trend in the last few years among the stickbow community to deliberately shed fatigues, treestands, and other "gear". Not to be confused with neophytes or those ignorant of so-called "neccessities", this breed of experienced, knowledgeable, and very hard-hunting enthusiasts make a very conscious choice to pursue game in a more simple, pure form.

That's the way I hunt now(alot of times I wear camo,though).

If they outlawed compounds and camo, it would have no effect on me, whatsoever. I rarely hunt with either of them now, so I'd definitely still bowhunt.

I don't like the fit or feel of most camo I've had, and not much of it comes in XXXL XTall anyway. [&:] I'll keep my plaid shirt and beat up hat, thank you. Most of my bowhunting is done wearing a blaze orange vest anyway, on public land during gun season.[:-]

I'm the same way about compounds. I've got some, even shoot them some, but recurves and longbows are a better fit for me all around - physically, mentally, emotionally and philosophically.

yes wihtout a doubt. as long as i let to go out and be in the woods hunting anything...it doesn't matter what my weapon or camo is.

When I started hunting in the early 80's I wore blue jeans and a plaid jacket and sometimes blue insulated coveralls. But I also used a big bore 94 in .375.
I love bowhunting so much that yes without a doubt I'd do it! When you wear blue it blends with the sky.

[8D]Duh![8D] As others have said...That's how I got started. It's the outdoor experience I'm after, not necessarily the meat. Hell, most rifle seasons are over a few hours after they start. Bowhunting lets me get out for a few months. The new compounds and other equipment allow me to mess around with the stuff long after the season closes.

Hell, I'd bowhunt if I had no arms and had to draw my bow with my teeth!

I would go without camo but If I couldn't use a compound I would quit..

I would definately hunt!! I have often thought that would be a good challenge. No camo though seems silly but whatever, I'd still hunt and enjoy it.

Yes I would. When you can shoot them from you bedroom window who needs camo. Someone has to control the population.

I'm not that old, but even I remember a time where the ONLY camo out there was military camo. And I think I had one of the first sets of the old Trebark camo out there. I thought it was pretty cool stuff, and it's not even around any more.
