RE: How Many Years

I've been hunting for 32 years. I hunted with a recurve with my dad one year back in the mid 70's. I started again in about 1988, so that would be 16 years in a row with a compound now.
I still do hunt with a rifle also some years. (that way, I can hunt elk twice in the same year!):D

Shooting for 27 years, Archery hunting for 20. Started shooting a willow branch with bailing twine as a string. I think I was kicking them out at about 15 fps. The arrows had masking tape fletches with one set at 4 degrees one at 10 degrees and the other was straight fletched. The arrows were tipped with balls of duct tape and my forward of center was somewhere around 50 %. Nock travel depended on the arrow. I remember a couple that would really kick when the knot in the branch would catch the riser. I will bet that my KE was probably around 1/2 foot pounds. Mom still acted like I was going to kill someone with it. Thats why the arrows ended up with balls of duct tape.

Seriously bowhunting.........8 years.

Over 30 years...When I started the deer supposedly didn't look up. Although I have enjoyed successes, along the way I think I have made every mistake there is to make. ;)

Antler Eater:

I'll match your mistakes and raise you a few hundred! I probably learned more from mistakes than anything else.

Seriously for 15years.
I carried a bow in the woods for a couple years before that, although I had no idea what I was doing. [8D]

C903, so true, so true.

If a guy can keep from making the same mistake twice, he will be a cut above the rest. It is the ones you DON'T know your making that hinder progress.
