Target Panic??
I tend to think I am a bit better than average shot. However, Occasionally, I tend to really flinch, and I mean BAD!. Enough to totally miss a 3-d target 15-20 yards away. I can shoot all day at practice & never have it happen. Shoot 3-d & I usually do it atleast once in 30 shots. Any suggestions??

Do you have any idea why you flinch? When I do that before I shoot, I say to myself "Just shoot don't think." I haven't flinched as much and I shoot better. I would flinch because I wouldn't hold the bow in my hand with enough force to keep it back. When I shot, the bow flung back and I missed.

RE: Target Panic??
I'm not real sure. I can be really concentrating on a spot on the target, then all of the sudden I m looking at my arrow where it is not supposed to be. I do know that when I normally shoot, I am still looking at the target after I shoot. ( a good follow through ). When I flinch it is like I don;t even remember shooting. Weird, maybe I am cencentrating too hard??

It might be a good idea to shoot with your eyes closed for a while (big back stop) to get "back to the basics". That way your are not concentrating on the targer and you can simply "feel" the shot and get that muscle memory of what a good release feels like.
