I've been bowfishing for 35 years or so. In fact, I'm still using the original Bear hand reel I bought, way back then. I guess most would say I'm not 'serious' about bowfishing, but maybe that's why I have so much fun doing it. [&:]

Big_Buck_Archer,
I bow fish in the Spring and Summer months (when I'm not bowhunting groundhogs). Most of the backwaters hold good populations of carp. If you want to shoot the big ones, over 15 lbs., you'll have to go to a quarry or reservior.
The largest one that I've taken was 13 lbs.
Good hunting, Bowhunter57

Used to bowfish alot when I was a young buck and lived close by the snake river, it was a blast as you stood on the sides of the bank and waited for the carp to stroll by and try to arrow them big ones, alot of fun...
