Default They just seem to know

So, our deer season ended on Saturday. I have these deer come and feed on tidbits I put out nightly in my yard. They always come a little after dark. About once or twice a year I'll have a doe come in during the daylight or wander through the neighborhood. So, since the season ended Saturday... I'm sitting in my den instead of in a tree. With a good 30-40 minutes of shooting light I see something walk past the window out of the corner of my eye. I get up and watch a parade of bucks walk 10 yards from the window and go to the tree for their treats, which I haven't put out yet. One really big bodied 7 point and a nice 8 point in the group of 3. So I scurry around and walk out, they look at me like WHAT???? Where's the apples and corn? They jump through the hedgerow and watch me from 45 yards away as I dump some corn. I go back in the garage and start chopping some apples. That takes a couple minutes. I walk out and this one little basket 6 pointer is back already. He runs off again and disappears into the neighborhood. Right at last light here comes 4 bucks back. They just know when they're safe. 15 minutes later there are 9 deer in the yard. If I don't get my camera back from the repair shop soon I'm going to bust.[:'(]

Man that would be awesome to have deer coming up in your back yard like that.. Heck sounds as if you dont need to sit in the woods, just hunt from your back porch..

That is great! Me and my cousins used to watch deer out in their front and back yard palying and eating. But, the very reason that there are urbanized deer is because of feeding. I dont see the harm for urban deer, put snobs that live in real rich areas(not to say the wealthy are all snobs) hate them. I dont really know where I am trying to get, but I might have a point, never mind, see if those bucks will shed their 160 class horns in your back yard in a couple of years!

HUNTINWHTAIL: I live in a neighborhood of 1/2 acre lots. I'm surrounded by nothing but tree huggers and bambi lovers. If I shot a deer in the yard and someone saw me I'd be dunked in tar and feathers and then neutered. I know of NO one in this area that even owns a gun or bow. They don't know what hunting is. All I'd need is for bambi to run over in little Jimmies yard and drop dead with his tongue hanging out and his eyes glassed over.[X(]

I just turned on the flood lights and counted 12 but they got antsy before I could finish. There were more I think. One macho buck. They're fat and healthy. All these deer live in one little 50 acre patch by the school yard.(no hunting allowed and surrounded by houses.

[8D] That's the 12 pt. salute Dave. Them buggers have been getting fat thanks to you and then they come to thank you flaunting their antlers. Every year I announce the end of my season. As I walk out the final day I start waving a big, white flag. While doing so I'm screaming constantly, " alright you bloody buggers, I quit! I'LL BE BACK!" Sure enough next morning they're out in force. Little Jimmie is happy. Tree huggers are happy. Bambi lovers are happy. PETA is happy. jimpok61 is on his medication and still screaming,"I'LL BE BACK'!
