I use the NEOS that jimpok61 was talking about, but not for hunting. They are really cool, just slip over you shoes. I wear sandals with mine.

It just drives me crazy when my boots that I wear will keep my feet cold and sweaty out in the woods! Any suggestions?

I wear Danner Trophys. Not to offend anyone but I use to sell boots and Danner is 3 times the boot Rockys are. The shank in Rockys just dont offer the support Danners do. Pick them up and twist them you will see what I mean. If you are in uneven terrain you need support. Also Danner actually does strength and stretch tests on the leather it has to be a certain thickness before they even consider using it! I sold both boots and Danner just seem to hold up much better. Its been awhile since I have sold them but if you pay the little more money you won't be disappointed.

bow huntr,
What kind of boot and what kind of sock? If you wear white cotton socks you could have the best boots in the world and your feet will still be wet and cold.

You need a good wicking sock. And as far as a boot, gore-tex works well as its waterproof and breathable. Depend on what kind of hunting you are doing.

It gets really cold here during late season. So I go for warmth. This year I bought A Cabelas Outfitter Series Boot. They are great for staying warm and for comfort!

When it is cold I wear My LaCrosse Burly 800's. Very warm and toasty.
When it is warmer, I wear some light weight tennis shoes or sneakers. Usually grungy with plenty of wear left in them, but never worn. Keep them scent free and wrapped always.

I have a pair of Itasca Snake Boots that are uninsulated for spring hunting, and Wolverine 800 gram boots for the winter and colder weather...love both pairs. And yes, I'm anti-Rocky...

Besides my rubber boots.......I really like my Wolverine Huntmasters. Once I got them broke in they were great.
