Anyone know anything about Bear compound bow company?? My father in law gave me this bow. He says he has no clue how he ever got it or where it came from. It looks like it could be the 1st bow ever made. Just wondering if anyones heard of the name or knows anything about them.
Well I hunted down my wife and the digital. Here's some pics. They're not so great. The darn thing barely fits in the screen of the camera. It's about as tall as I am.

This one has the little silver bear logo on it. I thought that was pretty cool.

The very first bow I ever hunted with was a bear. It belonged to my farther. Thankfully I never shot it at a deer. Cave men were better equipped than I was that year.
I shot it often and it was dead on but I pictured the deer doing an "olay" like a matador as it was terriblly slow. Not the quietest of bows either but then again it is probably damn near as old as I am.

Bear whitetail hunter, first compound I ever owned and I killed quite a few deer with it. I still have mine put up as a keepsake one thing I could say about it was you could allways tell where your arrow hit because it wasn't moving to fast but it was deadly inside 20 yrds.

Nice looking oldie. Would love to have it myself. I collect oldies but goodies. Have my Dad's ol' Bear Grizzly recurve from the early 50's. I consider them real keepsakes. Enjoy, and find a nice place on a wall to mount that baby.

If its fits you and it has enough poundage, it will kill deer. I had a Bear Whitetail Hunter back in about 1979. Can you say slow......but it did kill some deer inside 20 yards. Now, I'd say it would make a good bowfishing bow!
Good Luck!
