Sag,
I didn't pick up a catalog at the show like a dimwit, but I did sit in it.
It's just a Viper XLS with a widened top section from what I can tell......I believe the rep said that it was 22lbs.
That's all I need..... to be MORE comfortable than I already am! ZZZzzzzzzz
He also said that it was going to be a month before they were available.....that was Feb 2nd.
My buddy just sold his Ol'MAn Grand vision a day after he sat in this "Goliath"......HE's a svelt 290lbs. Gonna be a big guys dream.
Me personally, I'm not fat......just like a little more "Elbow" room for my 6'3" frame, and the extra capicity will give me a little more piece of mind.
It's a nice stand.

how is the new Goliath built? is it open in the front?
I own a Summit Python to use for bowhunting, but I am thinking of getting a Viper Extreme to rifle hunt with. The extra room sounds good though.

Hey Matt-
I'll be around a lot more... this won't be my last post.
The Goliath is our new "big" stand and I'm glad our guys were able to help you in Harrisburg. To answer your question: the top frame governs the weight rating because it's longer than the platform. Also, there are additional stiffening braces in the Goliath seat frame that aren't found in the other climbers we offer. Hope this answers your question.
If you need anything else from me, let me know. I'm glad to be an "official" member of the board now. Look, two whole posts!
See ya,
Will

Will,

It is always great to have representatives from the products we use here on the forum. I believe we have people from Predator Camo and Muzzy. Plus we have Dave Watson from Bushnells Secrets Of The Hunt. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting. This helps ALL of us in too many ways to list.

My hunting partner bought a Viper XLS last year from Dicks Sporting Goods. He absolutely loves it and constantly brags about how comfortable it is! Too he doesn't see deer anymore...I catch him sleeping too much!! hehe. Admittedly, I don't own a product from Summit however, I have used them and will continue to recommend them whenever people post the inevitable "What tree stand should I get?"

Hello Will

First off, I would like to say congrats to everyone from Summit. You have managed to make the best climbing stands ever, IMO. I have a Summit Bushmaster XL and I LOVE it. I have never seen a stand that is so perfect for the "less heavy" bow hunter like myself. I am 6' tall and weight 145 pounds. My Bushmaster is the most safe, easy to set up, comfortable, quite stand that I have ever used. I have been in the Lone Wolf climbers, but they don't seem to be any more quiet than Summits and I REALLY don't think that they are safe, IMO. Congrats again. I love SUMMIT.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

I bought a Bushmaster Xl 2 yrs ago and love it! I was very skeptical of the initial climbers put out by other companies and never truly felt safe until I bought the Summit and their safety harness!

Thanks for a great product!
