I am going to a outfitter and was wondering if fallow deer hunting is exciting. I thought one of the many expierinced hunters would know.

If your not led out there by the hand and told which one to take, it would be fun.

2 years ago I started Bowhunting Exotics to extend my Bowhunting season & have had some excellent trips. I have not always been successful but have at least seen what I was after in most cases. One of the best places for quality, quanity & good price with lots of good Fallow deer was at Sweet water Creek bowhunting near Decature texas. I am booked to hunt there again in Sept. of this year for the 4th time in 2 years. I don't usually recomend places as weather & such can change a persons success but this place has alway been very good & excellent facilities, staff & price-no trophy fees.
good luck & it is a blast-enjoy.

Like someone else has already said.......if you can actually hunt them and not just pick one out, they are a lot of fun. They can be challenging. They are also larger than most imagine and are fairly tough animals. I sent an arrow through the boiler room on this guy last year. Watched him lay down 30 yards from my stand, then stand back up after 30 minutes and walk down the hill. I stalked within bowrange and placed another very fatal shot. He ran for another 100 yards into a creek bottom. I stalked within bow range once again and took another shot which severed his heart. He then ran another 20 yards before expiring.
