Haven't had to, but if I had to make this shot, I'd probably shoot to one side of the spine and try to take at least one lung and the heart out...........

i hit one in the spine once , i shot high , i had to finish him off with another arrow . it was very strange , i pulled the trigger on my release , and down it went . but then it started dragging . not a pretty sight!

I took a shot at a bedded doe on a downhill slope from my treestand once.......in effect it was just about a straight down angle. If the deer wasn't sitting absolutely motionless and wide open at 18 yards I probably would not have attempted the shot.
I had all the time in the world to settle in. With a Rocket Miniblaster I broke the spine (Not quite center), took out lungs and clipped the egde of the heart.....the arrow actually continued through and the head broke the front lower leg tucked underneath the deer.
Pretty wicked shot.

If they are under the stand.......I figure that unless I do something stupid I should get a better shot and let them move out. Too much can go wrong with that shot. Too many guys don't practice that shot enough and wind up hitting too high.......too low whatever and end up at the butt end of a long single lung track job.[
