Interesting that he "shoots deer in the face just to see if he can do it" implying that he has done this more than once yet when pressed on it claims he has only done it once. I smell serious BS....

The sad thing is that I believe this guy would shoot an arrow into deer no matter what part was offering a shot. Any place he could just hit a deer, I bet he'd do it.

May I ?
There is no way to regulate ethics, NO WAY. You can't even regulate that someone be a good shot, let alone them TAKING a good shot.
Ya'll ever watched Fred Bears hunts ? Ya'll ever read about how archers use to hunt ? Did anyone else read the TBM article last month on the guy who makes Cat Quivers ?
Ethics can be talked about, agreed upon etc etc but never can they be enforced.
Yes, I think a head shot is a poor shot, but if he takes them, and makes them, who am I to complain ? I don't take 50 yard elk shots ... some guys can. i wouldn't shoot 80-100 yards with my copound - some guys do. I don't take animals facing me shots, others say its an great shot etc etc etc.

I was ripped by him and a few others saying I shouldn't question the way another hunter chooses to hunt............
So, here are many of the same yayhoos that have clobbered me around with that little witticism - the "if it's legal, then it's fine" crowd and the "we're all hunters and we've got to be unified" crowd and the "we need more hunters to help battle the anti's" crowd - all standing around and griping because now THEY are getting hit about something THEY disagree with, and with the same line THEY like to throw around.
Hey, these are the people you've been WANTING to joing the ranks! Now perhaps you're thinking maybe - just maybe - you were mistaken about a few things? Let me be the first to congratulate you and welcome you to the brotherhood of 'elitists.'

Wow, I read all most that entire thread and can't believe it! No there not PETA members just plain idiots.
Head shots with a bow and people are saying" it should be the hunters choice of what's a good shot!"
ArthurP, This is one of your traditional brothers spouting this carp. I guess it's not the equipment that dictates the ethics,eh?[&:]
I know where your coming from but I'm weak and couldn't resist that little dig.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I got blasted by that line whenever I speak up against allowing crossbows in bow season, or saying this, that or the other contraption is not in keeping with the spirit of the season and shouldn't be allowed.

I'm going to have to agree with Arthur and a couple other members.
You guys complaining now ARE the ones always griping about unity between hunters.
And again, who are we to say what is and isn't an ethical shot for one another? If he can make it a clean kill, let him. Some of you think double lung shots are THE best (I am amung those), but others say that the only place to shoot any game animal is in the shoulder. He says the head. If he can make a good clean kill, if the animal doesnt suffer, and if he doesn't waste meat, why complain?
It works for him. He can do it. We shouldn't bicker with him. it's crap like this that the Antis feed on. They see us arguing amungst ourselves and use it against us.
