Mathews? I am not trying to "stir the pot", just curious. It seems like about every 30 seconds or so, no matter what show is on, there is some talk about Mathews bows. Do they have a partnership with OTC?

I just think Mathews is that into advertising.

Sure seems like don't it. Just about every hunting show that hunts with archery equipment is sponsored by Mathews in some fashon.

BM, it makes me sick to see all the adds too. It just seems all the so called pro shooters are paid by or sponsered by mathews. But they don't have me fooled

I totally agree I will say that Mathews is a great bow tho I dont own one I have a couple of friends that do now they dont shoot any betyter than my Darton or several other bows that are on the market today. It is the man or woman behind the bow that counts. Yes Mathews could lower their price a lot if they would cut way back on the adds and I truly believe sell just as many bows.
I have been in archery since the early 60's and I realize one thing archery equipment is way over priced today to buy a top of the line bow, rest, sight, and arrows will easly set you back near 1000.00 if you dont believe it go price one now keep it until nest year and try to sell it and see what you get. Now same thing on a rifle buy a good one and put a good scope on it. Lets say spend 1000.00 on it all and in 10 years if you have taken good care of it you can still get near 1000.oo back for it yess something very very wrong here JMHO

That is soooo cooooool! Now I know why I bought my Mathews! It was the advertising on the Outdoor Channel! For those that think Mathews are sooo expensive...have you priced a Bowtech or Hoyt lately? Seems at my pro shop anyway, they are priced about the same.

This is the one comment I consistently hear about Mathews bows that mystifies me the most. "HEAR ME ONCE AND FOR ALL, MATHEWS BOWS DON"T COST ANYMORE THAN THE TOP OF THE LINE HOYT, BOWTEC, AR, OR HCA BOWS. In fact I paid slightly more for the Hoyt Razortec I have than I did for my Mathews Q2. If your local proshop is charging you way more for these bows then be pissed at them not Mathews.
There is virtually no difference in price at my local shop between a Mathews LX, a Hoyt Razortec, a Bowtec VFT, a Bowtec Patriot, an AR 34, or a PSE STL.

Mathews sales rose 2600% from 1995 to 1999.

If you know anything about business, you will know 2 things:

1. That is phenomenal growth for any company.

2. A company will never have phenomenal growth without an excellent product.

Now read Todd1700's post again.

Mathews Bows are worth every penny they charge.

As a matter of prudence, you might consider this...in 5 years Mathews will almost certainly be a bigger company. Some of the others are clearly losing market share and therefore, may be gone in 5 years. Makes it kinda tough to get parts or service if the company that makes your bow is out of business.

A company pays for advertising so their product will be shown.

Matthews is not any more expensive than other top line bows. Price a Bowtech, Hoyt, PSE, Martin, on and on and on. All of their top-of-the line bows exceed $600.

Don't worry.....Matthews will not run off other manufacturers. Any that do drop out will be because of a combined market due to many good bow manufacturers.

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on a new Martin Slayer or Cougar Magnum with Nitrous cams!;)
