RE: Do you gun hunt also?

Shotgun, muzzle loader and bow. Bow is definetly my favorite with muzzle loader coming in second. I' d probably be out there with a slingshot or blowgun if they were legal:D To me it' s not feasible to be out there with a bow when the others you hunt with are carrying firearms. If I could convince them to leave the guns home then I' d only use a bow.

Bowhunting only for me. I only use a shotgun to rabbit hunt. I live in NE Ohio and get very upset at they way that the majority of the guys slug hunt around my area. Please read my post in the " What is the beggest problem in your state" thread. This will explain my feelings more. I just don' t want to type it all out again:D Remember before you read it, I didn' t say all hunters, just the majority. I am in no way grouping all the gun hunters in with the idiots I am talking about. Please keep that in mind.

I do all three. This year I harvested a mature Doe and was more satified with her than I was with my 8 pter with a gun. I have been bow hunting 11 years. This year was the first I was sucessful with a bow.

I use the gun for backup if I don' t get one with the bow. I will usually gun hunt for does just so I can spend the time with my dad. And I am able to hunt for 2 more weeks, usually don' t shoot a doe untill the last few days.

All else being equal, I am a bow hunter.

At 26 years of age I have rifle hunted since I was twelve. I got tired of never drawing an antelope tag so I put in for controlled antelope with muzzleloader, an easy draw and an excellent hunt! This year I tired of the 7 day general rifle/bull season we hanve in southeast Idaho, so I have recently purchased my first bow and 2004 will be my fist archery season. CAN' T WAIT!!!!

I gun hunt too. It' s like a war zone. I hear hundreds and hundreds of shots every opener. I couldn' t begin to count. My inlaws own land next to 40,000 acres of state land that is open to public hunting.

this year i hunted the public land and had 3 different hunters setup within 130 yards of me. I watched as one shot a nice buck. Dang thing was just out of my slug range and didn' t want to take a risky shot.

funny thing is every time I get a gun in my hands the deer walk right up to me and give me what would be a perfect bow shot. Every time I just get ticked off. Of course I shoot the deer but why not walk right by me during bow season!!!!!

Yes I love gun hunting also. Why do some of you condemn the way one hunts, it' s all hunting, Walking, stalking, driving, sitting, blinds, treestands whatever... Gun, bow, muzzleloader, shotgun, spear, knife or dog it' s all hunting. Hunting is the taking of game for food. If you have to make a challenge of it thats fine call it more challenging but dont condemn the way one hunts or say thats not hunting, thats is B.S. For me getting into the woods is the number one reason I hunt second would be meat, third would be to take a trophy. Gun hunting can be challenging too. I love to really reach out and touch them. This pic below is of a hog that I took at a distance of 240 yds with a shot to his head that dropped him like a ton of bricks. Not everyone can shoot like that. He went 185lbs, not huge , but not small, he had four inch tusks and his european head mount is on the wall.

Bow gun and Black power. yup. love to hunt and watch animals. All deer here in NH I have harvested , either Bow or gun has been with in 30 yards. woods are thick and the land rolls.
You Bow Hunt only? Well thats great. I love to shoot all summer in the backyard at my plastic deer. My button harvest was a blast with the bow. But I still like the guns. Maybe when I get a big buck 3 years in a row I' ll think about bow only and move to the Milk River. and hunt with Ben Gorden and Marvein Wafflehouse.
