BigDaddy12t.............One change in the regulations this year that was the talk of Ripley was - If you purchased an " all season deer license" you could shoot a doe in ripley and still save your buck tag for a trophy. The all season license lets you shoot a doe and a buck. For years hunters in Ripley and other special hunts had to use their main tag in certain areas, meaning they could no longer shoot a buck. A lot of hunters this year left Ripley saying they would have an all season tag next year so the could harvest a doe and keep on hunting for the trophies.

Good Luck!

No wonder I can' t find a good buck. You' re shooting them all. get out!!! hehe. You are real close to where I hunt. Mainly I hunt my inlaws which own land right outside of Orrock. But I hunt the refuge and sand dunes every once in a while too.

Oh, I got the all season tag this year. Filled my doe tag at Ripley and saved my regular tag. Only thing that sucks is you can' t party hunt. So, no more shooting two bucks in a year for you! [:-]

[8D] Another beauty Cloud Nine. That second pose looks like the Horseshoe is still implanted fairly deep. Just grin and remember if you ever pass that baby it will make an excellent dragging pull. Another thought maybe that is what Davidmil is trying to pass hiding behind his infamous tree stand.

Rackluster.........We probably hunt only 5 maybe 10 miles apart. About the all season tag, I didn' t have that this year, but there was alot of talk about it at Ripley. And after thinking about it, I don' t think I' d shoot a doe at Ripley. I' m a whuss who doesn' t want to pull a doe up and down those darn ridges. I' d rather just wait for a big boy. Its also good to know about the party hunting rules with that tag. I' ll probably just stick with my regular tag and a bunch of intensive harvest tags.

Good Luck!

A great example of how diligent we all should be with any hit deer. A doe should get just as much effort tracking. Thanks for the example, it teaches well.
