Stuck the monster...Heading out to look this A.M.
My buddy let me hunt in his honey hole yesterday afternoon. Very windy and cold in Eastern Kansas yesterday so we still hunted. Half hour before dark, a doe appered and her boy friend was behind her. He came through my window at 20 yards and I released. My arrow only penetrated aprx. 10 " . This buck never flinched, he was still more interested in tending to the doe. I started wondering if I even hit him. They both began to trot towards the ridge after a bit. We went to retrieve my arrow and it had blood not quite half way up. We found several huge puddles with air bubbles, followed it up the ridge and it quite. We backed out and I' m fixin to head out again this morning. This is a once in a lifetime trophy, wish me luck. I will post pics if I find him(I mean when I find hiim).

Just out of curiosity, did the arrow hit a rib or something? Why didn' t it pass through? I only ask because I' m new to bow hunting, but at 20 yds would have expected a pass-through.

I' m not sure why I didn' t get a pass through. I didn' t hear a " crack" like it hit a rib, but for some reason it stuck in him and stopped cold. Beleive me, I' ve been sleepless all night wondering why, I was very nervous of course and cold, not an excuse, but I might have hade the " Gorilla Grip" on my bow causing poor penetration. I will keep ya' ll updated.

If there was bubbles in the blood, that deer did not go far. Bubbles indicate a lung shot. 10" of penetration will be more than enough to fatally wound this deer. Please post some pics so the rest of us can salivate.
