In general, yes. I think more bowhunters are serious about the sport than the people that gunhunt only.
Saying that, the number of people I talk to that take dumb shots while bowhunting is a little scarey. If you take bad shots, or make unethical decisions I don' t consider that person serious.
But yes. Many bowhunters out there are out there a lot, logging in several all-day sits, and doing some legwork. In my part of Wisconsin, the majority of gun hunters are weekend warriors out there just for the enjoyment, not so much the hunt. Not that that' s a always bad thing, they just do it for different reasons.

after being shot at opening day rifle, i would say YES bowhunters are the real deal, rifle hunters on the majority are retards that never practice shooting and think that a spike horn is worth 3 guys firing 5 shots to kill it! atleast thats my view now!

I' d say the serious gun hunters are on par with the serious bowhunters. As a group there may be more gun hunters that take things more " lightly" . I don' t gun hunt but, if I did, I' d be as serious about it as I am my bowhunting.

More serious..probably not (very general blanket statement)Some gun hunters are very serious. Sure some bozo' s don' t belong in the woods but we can' t stop them. Some shouldn' t even be allowed to carry a gun.
More dedicated? For sure!
Spend a lot more time scouting and learning deer, see more deer, know deer habits better, need to be able to get closer to deer, etc (the list goes on) <-Yes to all those.
