I hear ya Taz. Whether I take a buck on Saturday or not I am going to have to pull the rifle out, at least for a few days, after Thanksgiving. It just doesn' t seem fair...

Nothing wrong with gun hunting. As an avid rifleman and handloader, I look forward to gun season. Get some meat in that freezer.

I am trying to decide whether I should break out the smokepole, shotgun or rifle, I have to admit I do like that extra range of the rifle and smokepole!

I hear you Taz, I hear you....

I just got back from Dick Sporting Goods during lunchtime. I, uh, er, picked up a box of Remington 3" magnum #00 buckshot for my 870 12GA.

I have my PSE bow all ready and waiting for me. I also have the 870 waiting to sound off too.

Hmmmm.... which one to use....

Easy answer Butcha,

Use the bow for turkey and the gun for deer. Best of both worlds

I' ve got the 30-06 waiting by the door. I love gun season. Bbrings a whole new set of challenges.

8 years hunting. Two deer. Took a doe last year and a doe this year. both with the crossbow. Hoping to expand my success a little.

Although I have never hunted deer with a gun, there is absolutely nothing second-rate about an avid hunter using a firearm.
