I' m in on a special shotgun hunt at Starved Rock and Mathiessen State Parks next Monday through Thursday. It' s before the regular shotgun season, but unfortunately it' s also antlerless only. Tons of deer over there, but nobody hunts it because of the no-rack restriction. Shotgun is popular, but archery slots are never full except opening day.

I see rain and warm in my forcast for the area, but I' m going to be out in it all day unless it' s lightning. Bringing extra gear in case my stuff doesn' t dry out over night.

shot gun season, bah humbug!! I can' t stand it, it is not fair!! I think I should still be able to bow hunt during slug season!! But the wife says I need a break anyway!!
