I try to stay focused on the hunt. But I' ll frequently start daydreaming about work, home, etc. And I get visions of a nice buck walking by my stand. ;)

I think about all the deer under my other stand across the woods.

Being in a stand is a way to really go right brain for me and not think about life - no phone, no garage doors to fix, no bills, etc... I thank God for the opportunity to hunt. Wonder why the squirrels think they are so funny. And often, may be weird, but I think about if all the trees were immediately gone to expose the deer what I would actually see.

There' s nothing better than the beautiful, cool-but-warm, calm day with the sun shining and the woods " glowing" - even if you only hear the birds and see no more than trees.

dream of the big rack that hits me in the face.
i also think how grateful i' am still to be alive here today.
and you cannot forget the monster deer that might come down the path to give you a shot.

Thank God people lose thier minds out there like I do. I have some to add.

* Why do I have to wait til' 10 minutes before dark to see a deer? Is it not possible to see one when you first sit on stand?
* I wonder where the closest deer to me is right now? If it' s 3 miles from me, why am I sitting here?
* Is my release too tight on my wrist? Can' t adjust it now, it will make too much noise. Guess I' ll just have to live without that hand after it cuts off the circulation.
* I' m not looking cause I know it' s a squirell.
* Crap maybe it' s not a squirell I better look. &*!@#$* things.
* OK here we go baby. There' s one. Wait a minute. Is that a base of a tree or a stump or a deer?
* Wow it' s none of the above. It' s a medieval soldier, I' m sure of it!! wow!! wait til I tell the others.

just after i knock an arrow, and say a lil prayer to my mom(she passed)
