Last time you missed????

I know this question is risky as things could get deep in here, BUT when was the last time you missed? Anyone on a pretty good streak? Just bored at work and curious.

I' m in a slump, thus the name I picked.

Missed two times this year at fifteen yards - same deer. And not to brag, but I' m not a badshot. Just an idiot.

A six was under me in which I was drawn on for 5-10 seconds before I shot trying to pick the best spot as he had his head down and quartering away. I over-thought the shot losing focus, shot at the whole deer, and shot under him. Sucks. Part of hunting though.

[:' (]Ugh - just missed a doe this past saturday. 1st miss w/ bow in 4 years. I have thought about that shot over and over again. Right over her back.

Honestly its been about 5 or 6 years. BUT, I' ve probably only taken 10-12 shots in those years, approx. 2 shots per year, and they have all been pretty easy shots, within 20yds. I rarely miss, but have been known to make bad shots that I wished I would have missed.

I take that back, how could I forget, I missed a nice buck last year, I made up for it that same afternoon with a nice 8pt. Before then, 5-6 years.

My last miss was fortunate. I shot at a deer that was nearly under my stand and I rushed the shot. The deer behind it walked right behind it and stopped to smell the feathers on the arrow and gave me a perfect opportunity to make a nice hit. I was able to watch him walk away and lay down while the one I missed and two others that appeared on the scene walked around below me. The two arrows that I shot were not even 10 yards from my stand and about three feet apart. One was clean and the other one had a curve to it and covered in blood. The little buck that came walking in from behind me smelled the feathers on the bloody arrow and jumped back and ran a couple of yards and then walked around.

Yesterday. Missed the first shot, and the second shot was in the leg. Meat' s in the fridge, but I would much prefer a good double boiler.

Last Wednesday...

He is a 10 or a 12 point, large body deer (I try not to count points until after the shot). The shot was only 12 yards [:' (]. The arrow dinged the infamous unseen branch and it was a clean miss. He hit the deck after the shot, rolled completely over, then got up and took off like I' ve never seen a deer go before. I saw him again yesterday afternoon but he was too far away to take a shot... ;)

I missed opening weekend on a doe. Miss judged the yardage, but followed up on one of the other ones with it and got it. So I redeemed myself pretty quickly. A clean miss is always better than a hit and not find. That happened to me this year too. Hit her good I though just a little high. I guess it was the dreaded " hollow spot"
