Squirrels damaging treestands?

I recently bought a used API Baby Grand " Twister" hanging tree stand. This model of treestand has a round padded seat cushion that spins 360 degrees. My question is... Should I be worried about squirrels chewing up the padded seat when I' m not sitting in it? I plan on leaving my stand hanging until the end of the season OR until I get my first deer!
Thanks, Goob

i have a summit that they sure like to chew on, i put tabasco sauce on the places they like to chew on, don' t have much trouble anymore. after 2 seasons i' m going to replace the cushion next year.

I have had it happen on occasion though I was not aware that they showed preference for the flavor of different manufacturers' seats....
Try spraying something foul tasting...though mostly scent-free on the seat when you first set it up....Tabasco sauce for example...
. Seriously though, maybe placing some kind of cover over it would help remedy this problem.

BASTARDS!!! You can buy a spray at most pet stores that has a bitter apple flavor to it. It will be natural in most woods and keep the furry tailed rats out of your stand!
