Charlie, I am not sure if that is the entrance or exit hiding behind the leaf, but you are correct, that is where the arrow went. The deer was hit through the intestines on a broadside shot. They did not weigh the buck, just took it directly to be processed.

How many P&Y points? It looks like it will definitely make the 140 cut off.

Barnes,A typical only has to be 125 to make P&Y. No problem with that brute.

Thundergut, You guys did a great job finding him.

Great Buck! I admire the persistance and effort put forth to recover that deer. Was there much of a trail to follow, or is your buddy just that good?

Thanks for the Kudos Charlie, but I was not on the track of this one. Another friend of ours was with him. The other friend happens to be a phenominal tracker. This deer actually took to walking down a stream bed, in the water, for 1/4 of a mile, and my buddy never lost it. He is the one I call whenever I get " stumped" on a blood trail. But top answer your question Jason N, there was pretty decent blood at times and very little at others. All in all, though, the deer never stopped bleeding.
