I copied this off another site. It' s nice to know stuff.
Like the Packers or not, got to respect a man who will do what Favre did Sunday night, then grab the bow and go hunting the next day. I copied this from a Yahoo Sports article.....
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A broken right thumb didn' t prevent Brett Favre from rifling passes at the Metrodome or hunting for deer in the Wisconsin woods.
Less than 12 hours after a season-saving victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay' s ironman quarterback went bow hunting in the sleet and snow.
Coach Mike Sherman gave his players an extra day off after their 30-27 victory that narrowed the Vikings' division lead to two games. Only players who needed treatment reported to work Monday, and that didn' t include Favre, who played with a plastic splint on his right thumb.
``The only treatment he seems to employ is going out in the woods and going deer hunting with bow and arrow,' ' Sherman said. ``So, maybe that strengthens it.' '

Big Steelers fan here through thick and thin. Mostly thin this year, but that' s a different story. Favre is and has always been a tough guy in my book. Only other current quarterback that tough is Steve McNair. Wonder if he hunts too?

Ya, I bet football season kinda throws a wrench in your hunting season. That dude could probably fling an arrow and with his arm and kill a buck . Now I know why he stays up there in Wisconsin.
Rock on Brett.

What can ya say, the Rut is on. Hope he saw more than I did. I just got back from hunting and working up that way. " Sleet and snow" is an understatement. It was freekin nasty out Monday and Tuesday.

Just thinking about hunting with a broken thumb makes my hand hurt.
I guess if he shoots a release it wouldn' t be so bad. But things like climbing a tree stand, etc. would be a pain.
Maybe he was shot up with enough pain killer to last until the next day.

Next to bowhunting NFL football is my favorite pasttime. The problem with being a pro football player would be the fact that both football and hunting seasons start and end at the same time.

What is not to love about #4, I am sure glad he is on " my team." Anyway, in the past Farve has been known to hunt at the Wild Rivers up in my neck of the woods near Goodman, WI. Unfortunately, yes it is a fenced in area just like the VAST majority of hunts we all see on TV. I cannot slam him as much as I slam all of the " famous" hunters who bag bucks in fenced areas, his scouting time, and hunting time in the rut conflicts with his busy schedule so I can understand why he goes to a farm. Although I usually hear when he goes up there (I know the people who butcher the deer for Wild Rivers), hopefully he now hunts unfenced areas...I am sure there are plenty of people who let him hunt there prime land.

I' m not a pound you' re chest Packer type " cheesehead" (I hate that :-) but I do love the team and Favre is a tough character, just look at his record regarding numbers of consecutive starts. And yes, he does love to hunt (and fish too) and that' s cool compared to other professional' s " hobbies" .
To " monsterbuckland" ...I think THAT was the point of this topic, not that he is all that tough compared to other people. The guy (as all pro NFL players) have very little, if any, time to scout and do all the other stuff that goes with preparation. He takes the time to do it in a packed (No pun intended :-) schedule and that, again, I think is pretty cool.
