RE: Big Bob's Big Buck
Sag made me post it. Here goes the story. My 12 yr. old son missed this buck coming into a pond on the last Sun. of IL bowhunting season at 5:10 pm. He shot under the buck with his MT Sport at 30 yds. I went out on the following Thurs. to the same stand on the last day of the IL season. Two does came in to the pond at 5:00. At exactly 5:10pm this 13 pt. chased them off and got a drink at 30 yds. I shot him with a Bowman Accu-Riser with the shoot-thru harness(Quadra-cams) and a 100 gr. Spitfire with carbon express 300s. Actually knocked him down before he managed to get up and run almost 200 yds. My friend green scored him a close to 160 and a net of 142. He was taken in Mason Co. near the town of Havana which is one hour north of our capital of Springfield. This should qualify me for my first P & Y, since the Bowman was 65% let off and no electric sights were used. I have been bow hunting since 1993 and have taken two bucks that scored just under the 125. He field dressed 175# and was skin and bones from chasing does. One more interesting fact, in Sept,2000 I captured a picture of him on my Trail Cam and the identifing sticker pt. comes out between the brow tines is a dead give away that it is indeed the same buck. The taxidermist aged him at 5 1/2 years and saved the jawbone for me.

Congrats on a great buck Bob! That would of been great if your son took him, but I guess you can thank him now! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Judging from the pic I would think he is well over 140, did you get it scored officially? Did you get a second opinion?
