Default I hate late hunters!!

[:@] I hate it when someone come out past your stand and scares off the deer. Last night i had a buck coming my way from about 100 yards and closing. That was until he jerked his head back and took off like lightning leaving me confused and let down. Next thing i knew, two guys were walking the edge of the field right along side the woods and they didn' t even stop to hunt. They didn' t have stands or nothing, they just took a walk through at the wrong time. I could have chewed nails in two.[>:] It was the same people who came through the farm last year, and kept me from nailing this small button buck. I am seriously considering moving my stand to another farm.

Why not move your stand or put up another stand where they will run deer to you? I would not let people passing through run me off, especially if its a good spot! I have a couple of spots that I put up stands where I know the deer go to when the traffic in the woods picks up such as weekends and opening day. There have been several times where other hunters have pushed these deer to me and I was able to see or get a shot at deer.

Were you packing your x-bow? Well at least thankfully last year they saved you from killing a little button buck...why would you want to shoot a button buck anyway? Heck, the buck you saw last night might have been the button from last year. Shoot a doe instead.

A few years ago, on opening morning of bow season, some idiot comes noisily walking in to his stand just about sunrise--that means he was probably getting out of bed as I finished setting up. After I finally got his attention (about 25 yards away), he told me he couldn' t find his stand which he set up the evening before (he yelled this to me). After he searched the area for about 20 minutes, I asked him to find a different spot so I could continue to hunt. He finally left and I was watching 6 deer (mixture of does and small bucks) walking by me 1/2 hour later at 15 yards unaware of my presence--trailed by a nice 8 point. When the buck was 2 steps from my shooting lane, the deer in front encountered the trail from the latecomer and spooked taking the big one with them.[:@]

I eventually spotted his treestand--about 5 yards from mine! I had set mine up several days earlier and he should have seen it when he set his up.

I have a guy in my club who I think is scared of the dark. Seriously. What' s worse is he always seems to hunt the same property I choose. Nothing I can do but get well away from him, and hope the fact that he' s walking around at primetime on the other side of the farm will benefit me.

Sorry about your luck. The only thing worse is having a darn trespasser ride up on a 4-wheeler during primetime.

I am with wolfen on this one. Why would you want to shoot a button buck(Next' s years buck by the way) when I am sure there probably are way more does than bucks in your area?

i have that happen to me all the time. some guy decides an hour before dark to walk out to his stand. most of the year i hunt on public land, so ya just have to get used to it. just when u think u have a good spot that will let these guys push the deer to you, some yoyo comes from a different direction. these are also the guys who complain about never seeing any deer

It happens to me every year too. You bust your ass to get prepared for opening day, get up rediculusly early so not to spook deer and some clown walks down the trail 5 mins before legal. Its the crap you have to deal with hunting public property.

One year, I had a guy walk by right at shooting time, then an hour later comes back and asks me if I' ve seen anything! [:@] I wanted to shoot him, but instead just said " only you, twice" . Then he went home. Got there late and leaves a half hour after sunrise. What a joke!
