First Buck with a Bow
#1
11/02/03 - 7:10am, 30 yards, Fingerlakes area of NY, 4-Pointer (6 if you count the ring-hanger brow-tines... so I am told he even would have been legal in PA).
I have been at this bow game for a few years. I got my first doe three years ago. For the last two years... I have not really hunted due to my work load and the fact that I moved from Missouri to NY and basically had few places to hunt. This being my first buck... I was not trophy hunting. I about let him walk. I really thought long and hard about shooting this deer. At any rate, I will say that EVERYTHING that I have learned in my many years of bow hunting helped be in the right position to take this deer. Shot placement couldn' t have been any better - double-lung and heart.
