Sittting there watchin squirrels all afternoon till a little half rack buck comes up. He fed and made a rub all within 20 yards of my stand. Then I seen a couple deer feeding out in the corn field. When it got dark and got down and went to my friiends stand and he said he has a big 6 ptr. 25 yards in a perfect opening. (If only he bowhunted he would have got him) So we get to the edge of timber 10 yards from where he sat and here comes that same deer right at us. He stopped 10 feet from me, directly down wind and fed. Then circled around to my left and walked 7 feet to the left of my buddy. Then wandered on off deeper into the woods. That was quite a rush to be that close to a deer and him not know we were there. And to top it all off he was down wind of us. I' m pretty pleased with my scent control procedures after this incident. Then when we got out into the field there were 4 more deer feeding down wind of us. Needless to say I think my non-bowhunting buddy might decide to take up the sport next season!
