Congratulations!
I see you are in the Southern Tier. I live and hunt in the northern zone, but I have a daughter and son-in-law who built a new home in the southern tier....but they have woods out back!......all the more reason for me to visit next hunting season!

Again, good for you!

Clint

Another quick picture - I was hunting in an old overgrown apple orchard on the property. Tha apples are just incredible in here - unfortunately there are several other places like it - and one never knows if the deer will come in in time for a shot.

The buck came from behind me - and to the left side of the picture. Several bucks had been chasing a doe through the area - and I was grunting trying to bring them, or one of them in - After they all ran down the hill for the last time - I thought we were done. But this guy snuck in - and I almost had no shot! He walked in line woth the bent over ash in the picture (left of center) - He was huffing and licking his lips as he walked quickly looking for " the doe" . Finally he slowed, and I had a " window" between the branches of the horizontal ash in the picture. The shot was good.

Thanks for reading.

What did the rest of the country do?? ship them all here on vacation????
Actually, they' ve been there a LONG time. During WWII there were several units transferred from Texas, prior to shipment to Europe, to the then " Camp Drum" in the Adirondacks for training. They brought with them their unit mascots. Among the managery were several Coyotes from the Southwest. When they shipped for Europe they turned them loose in the mountains. At least, that was the story I was told back in the 50s by my father who was raised in Thendera. We had yotes then in the Adirondacks.
