RE: Question...is this a big six pointer?

Me? Brag? Naawwwwwwwwww !!!! Wellll....maybe just a little. :D This is my biggest buck that I' ve taken. I' ve lost a couple of hawgs over the years but this is the first one I did it right.

192 lbs dressed, 22 inch spread, swollen neck, 3 broken hooves, and 3 draggers with sore backs still. :D

RE: Question...is this a big six pointer?

That is a fine 6 pointer, I have one that is actually wider and has more mass than him that I have been trying to get for 2 years and the land owner had been trying to get him for a few years before that. I sure hope I can stick him before he dies of old age!

Your 6 pointer is the biggest I have ever seen taken, but not on the hoof. Congrats on a very nice deer.

Nice deer.

You know, what' s funny is that thing could walk around like a king here in Western PA, with the 4pt/side restriction in place! I agree with the restriction because everyone else shot the forkhorns and small 6' s every year (not me), but a rack like that should be a special case! Maybe they need a minimum spread exception too.

Wouldn' t it be funny if in 20 years all the big bucks in PA looked like that one?? LOL

Wow, what a thumper! God did that deer an injustice by only putting six points on that rack. I can' t belive how wide and tall it is for only six points. GREAT BUCK.[8D]

RE: Question...is this a big six pointer?

Hey mddittman.....excellent point. I believe this buck would be illegal to harvest where my brother lives in Arkansas. I think he said they must have a minimum of 4 points on one side. [:o] Wouldn' t that be a crock to have to let one of these walk on by? [X(]

Yeah ARMallard he is going to be mounted. Cousins uncle in Mississippi is mounting him for me. His son is picking it up this weekend and they will deliver it the weekend of Nov 20.

The wife is not happy...but what the heck.....she' s married to me !!! [:-]

AWESOME deer, i had a friend whose uncle killed one close to that many years ago in Pennsylvania. I mean MANY years ago! they have it their house now. that is great, you don' t get a chance at a deer like that too many times in your life. if any.

RE: Question...is this a big six pointer?

The pooped out guy holding him was too pooped to smile. Took a couple of hours of draggin with lots of knee grasping and air sucking to get that hawg back to the truck. I' m glad he wasn' t any bigger or the 3 of us would have never gotten him out. [X(]

No ATV' s allowed where we were and it was too rough for a deer cart.

Thats a big six - a real trophy - and possibly a record - you should look into it.

this one scored 127:

http://trophyroom.sportsselect.com/a...20Ellerman.jpg

There is a club for true 6 point bucks scoring higher than 100 B&C - I tried to find the link but could not - I remember it because I took a big six that scored just under 100 B&C 11 years ago and was looking to see if it qualify - it just missed.

Nice buck.

Awesome deer. If I am not mistaken, I read an article in one hunting magazine last year that the world record 6 pointer came from either Union or Johnson County Illinios. I think it scored in the high 130s

I' d rather shoot does :)

bowhuntin1 11-02-2003 11:58 AM

RE: Question...is this a big six pointer?

A huge six pointer was killed in Johnson Co several years ago but burned up when the taxidermy shop caught fire and was destroyed. Word was that it would have been the largest six pointer ever taken in Illinois but it was never officially measured before being destroyed.

I have been told by an official scorer that my buck will probably score at minimum mid to high 130' s. I' ve had several big buck shooters tell me they think it will push 150. We' ll find out for sure in about 53 days or so. Don' t matter.....got myself a hawg and I am one very very very happy bowhunter. :D:D:D
