i was waiting to see what mathews came out with for 2002 before i decided what to get. now that they did i still can't decide what i want. it will be used mostly for treestand hunting whitetails. looking at the short ata's like the q2, sq2 or the havoc. any and all opinions would be great to hear. thanks

i have a havoc and i really like it. by brother has an FX and a friend has a ultra 2.

all three are nice bows, but i think the FX is towards the bottom. once i have learned to shoot the havoc, i really like it. the grip is nice and small and my hand fits in it very well, so i have the same grip ever time.

Try them all out and pick the one that feels best for you. For me it was the Q2.
Good Luck.

Like 5A said, shoot each bow and buy the bow you like. I'd already decided which bow I was gonna buy...and then I shot a Q2 last week, liked it so much I bought it. There are a lot of great bows on the market and remember, most people are gonna recommend the bow they are shooting.

I owned Hoyt for the past seven seasons (AlphaTec & UltraTec). They were great shooting bows, but in my opinion, they didn't compare to the smoothness of the Q2. The Hoyt's fit in my hand better - but overall - I really like the Q2 the best. But again, that is my own personal experience. Like previous posts - shoot them and go with the one that feels best to you. Hoyt & Matthews are top of the line bows, so I'm sure you won't go wrong.

Good Luck.
