Fellow Stealth Archery staff shooter Jeff " Mad Dog" Moody and I were huntin some prime ground in S.E. Nebraska.....about 15 miles from the Kansas border.
We hunted this spot sat. evening and I saw a doe and her twin kids," Mad Dog" saw several does and what he thought to be a shooter 4x4,but he said he would like a little closer look!
Well, we hunted the same stands sunday morning and I took along my Primos " CAN" call (if you dont have one get one!) figureing that with this cold snap the bucks would be gettin the itch and it just might bring in that 4x4 for a " closer look" .
About 9:25AM I had juct finished calling and looked around......there stood " Mad Dogs" 4x4 about 30 yards away.....lookin my direction!!!!!!
To say that I quickly exchanged my call for my trusty Q2XL would be an under statement......the buck started working his way to me and at 15 yards his head went behind a tree......the XL came to full draw as the bucks head came out from behind the tree.....just when I thought he was going to step into my shooting lane,he turned sharp left and was quartering away at about 20 yards!
I pinned him and the arrow was gone.....the shot looked good as he busted thru the hardwoods and vanished into some cedars about 50 yards from my stand,I made a mental note of that spot and eased down from my stand.I slipped over to Jeff and told him the news and he said it sounded like the same buck,we decided to leave and give him plenty of time!
We came back about an hour and a half later and took up the trail......." MAD Dog" spotted him first, not 25 yards from the last place I saw him,I bet we were quite the sight " High Fiven" as Jeff is 6ft.3 and Im 5ft.6
Jeff looked him over and said it was the same buck, but said that when he told me he wanted a " Closer look" he didnt mean for me to shoot him......I said I was just tring to help him out and we had a good chuckle!
I think he was even happier than me,he is a true friend!
The bowhunting gods have blessed me again......this is my 4th P&Y class buck and he looks to score in the 130s!

If I never shoot another deer I guess I couldnt complain......but im sure gona be out there tryin! Good luck to all......

Congratulations on the buck. I started using the Can this year with some mixed results. Hopefully as the rut gets closer in my neck the woods it will be more effective.

You are on a streak. By the way can you do something about the weather next week. That would be a real nice Hostie thing to do if you could cancel the rain
Conrats again Jerry.
