Default Results of 2001 successful broadhead poll

Sifting through the broadheads used successfully, made my head spin and wore out my Cabela's catalog. lol. Totals may be off by 2 or 3, as I am not sure what a couple of heads were....fixed or mechanical. All brands were lumped together, I didn't seperate the grain weight thoroughly, only if it was fixed or mechanical, although it seems 100 grains is the leader. So following:

Fixed blades....132
Mechanicals.....107

Muzzy led the fixed blade category with 62
although NAP(Thunderhead, Spitfire, Shockwave) led overall with 81 heads used.

NAP led mechanicals with 43(Spitfires 27 of these)
Rocket mechanicals was close behind with 35

I did not count the Rocket Buckblaster as fixed or mechanical head, although it was included in the totals. One I believe.

Interestingly, Rocky Mtn. Snyper was reported for 7 successful kills, not bad for a newer broadhead on the market. I am also a little surprised that the Innerlock broadhead was not reported, personally I might give these a try. I can't remember if 5Shot tested these.

Whitetail deer, mule deer, moose, elk, mtn. goat, coyote, bobcat, turkey, squirrel, pheasant, fox were reported using these heads. ABM didn't report so I can't count his Muzzy or Cabela Pro Lazer Mag heads in the totals. Anyway, it looked to be a very successful season for many here. Congratulations!

Sorry for the no report Coug, I shoulda dropped in my 2 Cents.

I killed 1 bull on July 5th with Cabela's Super Lazer Pro Mags, but didn't like the flight I was seeing from those, so I switched to Muzzy's. I killed my August 25th caribou with the muzzy 125 grain, and it flew and worked perfect.

Thanks for the reports!

Thanks for taking the time to tally up those numbers for us Coug. Many Kudos to you!

Although still illegal in some states I find it amazing how Mecnanicals have made such tremendous inroads in the market place.

Certainly all the more reason to educate our brothers in matters concerning their use.

thanks buddy, I know that took a while to do! Interesting resluts. It seems that despite all we here, fixed blade heads still lead the pack, but the mechanicals are slipping up! thanks again for all the hard work.
